Getting to Forbes Hill

From George Town, cross the one-lane bridge to Little Exuma Island and continue on Queens Highway. Watch for a gravel road turnoff on your left, just south of Perry Road. Follow this single-lane dirt track, navigating carefully around potholes, until you reach a small unpaved parking area shaded by trees.

The road is rough but passable for standard vehicles if driven slowly. At the end, turn right and look for the covered entrance to the beach path. The journey takes about twenty minutes from George Town and feels like traveling back in time.

Practical considerations

Forbes Hill Beach has no facilities whatsoever. Bring all water, food, sunscreen, and shade you will need. The tree-shaded parking area provides some relief from the sun, but the beach itself offers limited natural shade.

Mobile phone signal may be weak or absent at this remote location. Let someone know your plans before heading to Forbes Hill, and carry emergency supplies. The isolation is part of the appeal, but preparation is essential for a safe and enjoyable visit.
