Cat Island, The Bahamas

Cat Island Weather by Month

Cat Island offers a tropical wet and dry climate ideal for sailing, with warm temperatures year-round (highs 77-88°F). The dry season from December through April brings the most reliable sailing weather with steady 12-18 knot easterly trade winds, low humidity, and minimal rain. The wet season from May through October sees increased rainfall, higher humidity, and the Atlantic hurricane season threat (June 1 - November 30, peaking August-October). Cat Island is notably uncrowded compared to Nassau and the Abacos, making it an excellent off-the-beaten-path sailing destination. Water temperatures remain comfortable for swimming year-round (75-85°F).

Best months to visit: February, March, April, November, December.
