5-Day Bahamas Snorkeling and Diving Adventure
The Exuma Cays offer some of the clearest water on Earth, with visibility regularly exceeding 100 feet and underwater landscapes ranging from coral gardens to James Bond film locations. This five-day itinerary is designed for snorkelers and divers who want to spend maximum time exploring beneath the surface.
From the protected reefs of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park to the legendary underwater grotto where Thunderball and Never Say Never Again were filmed, each day brings new underwater wonders. Your crewed catamaran positions you at prime sites before the day-trip crowds arrive, and the onboard compressor means divers can make multiple dives without returning to shore.
Nassau to Norman's Cay
Depart Nassau and sail 35 nautical miles to Norman's Cay, famous for the sunken drug plane visible in just 15 feet of water. Snorkel the wreck site where a Curtiss C-46 rests in the shallows, its wings and fuselage encrusted with coral and teeming with tropical fish. The clear water makes this an excellent first-day dive for photographers.
Overnight: Norman's Cay Anchorage
Norman's Cay to Warderick Wells
Sail 20 nautical miles through the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park to Warderick Wells. The protected marine park waters harbor exceptional reef systems with healthy coral, nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays, and sea turtles. No fishing is allowed here, so marine life is abundant and unafraid. Snorkel multiple sites around the mooring field.

Warderick Wells to Staniel Cay
A 20-nautical-mile morning sail brings you to Staniel Cay and the legendary Thunderball Grotto. Time your visit for slack low tide to swim through the cave entrance and surface inside the sunlit grotto, surrounded by swirling fish illuminated by shafts of light through the rock ceiling. Make multiple snorkel passes to fully appreciate this natural wonder.
Overnight: Staniel Cay Yacht Club
Compass Cay and Pipe Creek
Explore the underwater world around Compass Cay, where nurse sharks congregate at the marina. For more adventurous snorkeling, cruise to Pipe Creek, a labyrinth of small cays and coral heads with exceptional water clarity. The shallow patch reefs here support parrotfish, angelfish, and the occasional curious barracuda.
Overnight: Compass Cay Marina
Staniel Cay to Nassau
