About CU Sailing II

Eight people, four cabins, four heads. That is the whole pitch for CU Sailing II, and it settles, before anyone boards, the question of who shares a bathroom with whom: nobody does. She is the four-cabin version of the 2023 Lagoon 46, every double cabin has its own en-suite head, and of the two Lagoon 46s we list she is the one with the lower weekly rate in every season of the 2026/27 booking year.

The layout suits two families particularly well. Each hull holds two of the cabins, so one family can take each side and meet in the middle, where the saloon is wrapped in windows and the galley is open to the aft cockpit. Every cabin has hull windows, and up at the bow the forward cockpit doubles as a sun deck for anyone who wants an hour to themselves. It is a sociable layout with enough separation that a week together still feels like a holiday.

The flybridge is the working end of the boat, where the helm shares the space with a lounge out of the sun and a sunpad for those who want it. Her rig keeps sail handling simple. The headsail is a self-tacking jib, so tacking needs no work on the sheets, and the main is a square-top Dacron sail. Two 57 hp Yanmars, the larger engines of the two 46s, take over when the breeze dies, and navigation is a chartplotter, autopilot and VHF.

Comfort aboard runs to air conditioning, a generator and a watermaker, which earns its place with eight people drawing on a 159-gallon tank. There is Bluetooth audio in the saloon and cockpit, a cockpit grill, a freshwater deck shower, snorkel gear for everyone and a stand-up paddleboard. The Comfort Pack adds the dinghy and outboard, linen and towels, cruising and fishing permits, a chart briefing, a welcome pack, end-of-charter cleaning and a damage deposit reduction waiver. Fuel and optional extras are yours to cover.

For families, the Abacos make an easy first charter. Mermaid Reef, just off Marsh Harbour, is shallow and calm enough for first-time snorkelers, and the Fowl Cay reserve near Man-O-War is the next step up. The swimming pigs at No Name Cay and the beaches of Green Turtle Cay lie north of the Whale Cay passage, a stretch of open water you cross only in settled weather; the morning cruisers' net on VHF 68 is where boaters share the day's conditions.

In the 2026/27 booking year her weekly rate runs from $7,150 in early August to $16,500 over Christmas and New Year, plus the mandatory Comfort Pack: $1,050 for the first week and $630 for each one after. VAT at 10% is already included; the 4% cruising tax is extra. The refundable deposit is $1,500. Against the six-cabin flagships, the trade-off is room rather than comfort: she has less deck space and a smaller water tank, so she suits eight aboard rather than more. Book her bareboat with a qualified skipper, or with a local skipper through Abaco Sail.

Operated by Abaco Sail at Conch Inn Marina

All twelve Abaco Sail catamarans we list start and finish their charters at Conch Inn Marina in Marsh Harbour, the main town on Great Abaco. Abaco Sail's own dock team prepares each boat, hands her over at Slip 14 and takes her back at the end of your trip, and the sheltered water of the Sea of Abaco begins just outside the harbour.

FAQ

CU Sailing II: common questions

How is CU Sailing II different from Bella Giornata?

Both are 2023 Lagoon 46s with the same beam, draft, tanks, equipment list, Comfort Pack and deposit. CU Sailing II has four cabins, four en-suite heads and eight berths, 57 hp Yanmars, a square-top main and a self-tacking jib. Bella Giornata is the three-cabin owner's version for six, with the whole port hull as a master suite and 45 hp engines. CU Sailing II has the lower weekly rate in every season.

Does every cabin on CU Sailing II have its own bathroom?

Yes. All four double cabins have en-suite heads, so nobody shares. The cabins have hull windows, and with two cabins in each hull, two families can take a side each and meet in the saloon.

Can we bring more than eight guests on CU Sailing II?

She is registered for twelve passengers, but she has eight berths, so eight is the number for a week aboard. For nine to twelve guests, look at the six-cabin flagships, CU Sailing and Sapphire Seas, which each sleep twelve.

What does a week on CU Sailing II cost?

In the 2026/27 booking year (October 15, 2026 to October 14, 2027) her weekly rate runs from $7,150 (August 1–18) to $16,500 (December 24 to January 6), with the prime winter weeks from March 1 to April 17 at $12,760. Add the mandatory Comfort Pack of $1,050 for the first week and $630 for each extra week. The 10% Bahamian VAT is already included; the 4% cruising tax is not. Split eight ways, the early-August rate is under $900 a person for the week, before the Comfort Pack and tax.

What is the shortest charter we can book on CU Sailing II?

Four nights. For anything shorter than a week, each night is charged at one-sixth of that season's weekly price, so four nights cost two-thirds of a full week, and the mandatory Comfort Pack applies to every charter. You can board from 4:00 PM on your first day and need to be off by 10:00 AM on your last.
